Learning by Doing: Art Borin Jr Technical Agricole Students Take Their Skills to the Field
Classrooms are where knowledge begins—but the farm is where that knowledge comes to life.
This July, students from the Art Borin Jr Technical Agricole Program participated in a hands-on Live Lab Session at a working farm, gaining practical experience in sustainable agriculture and modern farming techniques. Throughout the day, students applied what they have learned in the classroom by preparing soil, planting, cultivating crops, and learning proper field management under the guidance of experienced mentors.
The session was designed to strengthen technical skills while building teamwork, responsibility, and confidence. By working directly in a real agricultural environment, students experienced the challenges and rewards of farming firsthand, reinforcing the importance of agriculture in strengthening local communities and promoting food security.
At the Haitian Sports Foundation (HSF), we believe education extends beyond four walls. Providing young people with opportunities to learn through experience equips them with practical skills that can create lasting opportunities for themselves, their families, and their communities.
We are proud of the dedication and enthusiasm these students demonstrated throughout the day, and we look forward to seeing them continue to grow as the next generation of agricultural leaders.
Together, we’re cultivating knowledge, opportunity, and a brighter future—one field at a time.Â
