HSF’s October Clinic Update

October 2021 – HSF continues to provide valuable medical service to the Nippes population in Haiti.

Our services have been upgraded to performing minor surgery. This month we also provided free consulting services to sixty patients, including 14 children.

As you know, last month we performed our first minor tumor surgery for a young gentleman. He is recuperating and doing well.

This month a patient entered the clinic with a cyst behind his left ear. The operation was a success, and the patient was able to go home with antibiotics donated by HSF.

We also treated many patients, with urine, blood, syphilis, and pregnancy tests from the Diane Berry Caves Laboratory on the premises.

Results were submitted to the doctor on duty for appropriate treatment.

According to the medical staff, the service is expanding, and people are very comfortable with the care we are providing.

Some came on donkeys; others walk miles to receive treatment.

Unfortunately, we were not able to assist four patients with hernia at this time.

Our thanks to the medical staff (Dr Donald Severe, Nurse; Hermine Amazan; and Ms.  Ketia Bertan, our Lab technician) and to others who make this possible.
