The Haitian Sports Foundation (HSF) joined hands with children and community members to honor the birth of Jean-Jacques Dessalines—the revered founder of Haiti’s independence.

Dessalines, a symbol of resilience, courage, and determination, led Haiti to become the first free Black republic in the world in 1804. 

At HSF, we believe that remembering heroes like Dessalines is not only about looking back at history, but also about inspiring the younger generation to carry forward the values of strength, unity, and hope. 

The event was more than a commemoration—it was a reminder that Dessalines’ spirit lives on in every Haitian child who dreams of a brighter future. Together, we continue to honor his memory by empowering youth through education, sports, and community development.
